About Mala Hotpot
Mala Hotpot is a hot pot in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 3608 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213, which places it among the local businesses of Pittsburgh that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
Hours are published for 1 day a week. On most of those days it is open 11 AMβ9 PM. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file.

Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Pittsburgh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

friend finally took me here after a year at CMU and i love it so much very good homestyle hotpot/malatang and very friendly staff :) i will be back hotpot ingredients are self-select and pricing is $1.25/oz which translates to $20/lb; my ~$19 order was enough for dinner there and my lunch the next day :D highly recommend for a chill authentic malatang/single-serving hotpot & the location is quite convenient coming from CMU

Very tasty serve-yourself hotpot resturant with pricing that lets you determine how much food you want. The vibes are super nice, and the food is quick and tasty. I come back all the time!

Pretty solid mala hotpot place. I came by with my family for a weekend lunch recently and there were plenty of seats (some customers coming in and out while we were there). For the malatang, it's all self-serve for the ingredients, and you weigh/tell them what soup base you want at the counter. The selection of veggies is pretty large, and the meats were pretty good quality. Price point of $20/lbs (it says $1.25/oz on the wall which required some mental maths XD) is a bit high, but nothing crazy. Each of our bowls came out to be in the $15-20 range. I think they have some credit card surcharge (like 3%? which is unfortunate.) Overall good experience and would come back.

Probably the most authentic mala tasting hotpot experience in Pittsburgh. You grab a bowl and choose all the toppings you want and pay by the pound. The portion can get pretty filling when grabbing all the things that look appealing, so pick well. Cost comes out about $22.50 per person. The space is average, food decently quickly prepared, and the taste solid.
